My name is Anna Huntsman, and I’m a reporter at Ideastream Public Media.
I’m a tenacious reporter and passionate leader.
I’m a reporter at Ideastream Public Media, Northeast Ohio’s PBS and NPR member station, covering Akron, Canton, Kent and surrounding areas. I previously reported on health news during the fast-paced news cycle of the COVID-19 pandemic. I have also served as an associate producer for the award-winning children’s show NewsDepth, which provides news and educational content to middle schoolers across the state.
Before coming to Ideastream Public Media, I completed a fellowship for News21, a national investigative reporting program at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism in Phoenix, Arizona. My reporting there was published in The New York Times, Washington Post and Associated Press, in addition to other national outlets.
I’m a public radio nerd and I hope to make a difference in the communities I serve. I also have a passion for mentoring aspiring journalists and those who are new to the field. I regularly give presentations and workshops to local high school and collegiate journalism students.
My work has been recognized by the national Gracie Awards, Press Club of Cleveland, Ohio Associated Press Media Editors and Society of Professional Journalists.
In my spare time, I enjoy listening to podcasts, trying new recipes and getting lost in good books — my current favorite genre being mystery thrillers.
